Farmers and Slaves were at the bottom of the social pyramid. Farmers would work everyday. They harvested many helpful crops such as wheat, barley and papyrus reeds. Farmers used the papyrus reeds to make baskets, rope and paper like rolls used for writing. Farmers also grew flax for making fine linen. Agriculture was ancient Egypt's lifeline. People relied agriculture for food and for other hand made items. Farming had a very important role during ancient Egypt's civilization. Even though this job was very important farmers and slaves were at the bottom of the social pyramid.
